DOB Gallery in Belgrade:

Dejan Kaludjerović, paintings

by N.T.V. - Beorama / March 2ooo

There is so much irony, spontaneity, criticism, persuasive self consciousness, and sobriety in Kaludjerović's paintings that one would think the artist without a doubt at least 40, and that he took the last decade very emotionally. The paintings are stratified, complex and they represent an excellent foundation for discussion about life in our country.

Kaludjerović, a senior student at Belgrade Academy of Fine Arts played with maps on which he painted scenes from a life that represent the heritage of socialism. There are paintings of war, wedding and of a period of life we lived so long ago that we even don't remember it anymore.

The Paintings are warning and threatening us, but still they represent the reality that we all went trough, a reality we mustn't forget so that we don't repeat it. Dejan's strength lies exactly in the strength of the expression, and in the way of presenting the artistic theme he chose. An artist with great ideas and an even greater chance of fulfilling them.
